Mora Quality of Life

Mora is a City for all Seasons! Mora offers its residents and visitors art, entertainment, recreation, natural features including the Snake River and Lake Mora , and excellent schools and full-service retail services. The City serves as a regional center with excellent banking facilities, a state-of-the-art health care system and a number of restaurants and lodging facilities. The area also offers an excellent work force, low tax rates, competitive electrical rates and easy transportation access.

•  Mora has a youth program, MAYRA, which involves approximately 500 of the City's youth. The association sponsors youth baseball, softball, flag football, soccer, hockey and figure skating. Visit www.mayrasports.com for more information.

•  The Nordic Ski Center , designed to promote cross country skiing, is open to the skiing public during the winter months and used by sport activity groups the rest of the year.

•  Spring Brook Golf Course, an 18 hole course, is located just 2 miles east of Mora. Visit www.springbrookgc.com for more information.

•  Mora is home to the Mora Classic Series; consisting of the Snake River Canoe Race, the Mora Half Marathon , the Mora Bike Tour and the Mora Vasaloppet Cross Country Ski Race. The Snake River Canoe Race - a 25 kilometer race down the Snake River - is held on the first Saturday in May. The Mora Half Marathon - a 13.1 mile run that begins and ends in downtown Mora - is held on the third Saturday in August. The Mora Bike Tour - with 30, 60 and 100 mile options - is held on the third Saturday in September. The Vasaloppet Cross Country Ski Race - with three separate races all ending in downtown Mora - is held on the second Sunday in February. Visit www.moraclassicseries.org for more details.

•  The Mora Public Library is a branch of the East Central Regional Library. The library offers a wide selection of books, reference material and reading programs for children. Contact 320-679-2642 for more information.

•  The Mora Municipal Airport , adjacent to the Industrial Park, features a 3,998 foot paved primary runway and a 2,450 foot turf crosswind runway.
